WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.--The Connecticut College women´s cross country team competed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass. Saturday. Running with their second group, the Camels placed 12th out of the 39 scoring teams with 391 points.
Middlebury College won the Championship with a score of 37 points. Williams was second with 50 points and Amherst College placed third with a score of 105 points.
Junior Melanie Poole (Middlefield, Conn.) was the top Connecticut College finisher in 57th place with a time of 25:47 on the 6k course. Merry Byrne (Brookside, N.J.) posted a time of 26:12 in 72nd place. Michelle Wesley (Millwood, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in 77th place with a time of 26:17.
Leah Demarest (Amherst, N.H.) was the 92nd finisher with a time of 26:37. Clare Murphy-Hagan (Portland, Ore.) checked in with a time of 26:47 as the 100th runner to cross the finish line. Sophomore Ally Bonito (Guilford, Conn.) was 117th with a time of 27:05 and Lianne Swanson (Franklin, Mass.) posted a time of 27:43 in 151st place.
