The first official SEAT (Southeast Area Transit) bus stop in New London is now up and running on the Connecticut College campus.
NEW LONDON, Conn. - Connecticut College´s Music Department will present "A Bucket of Bassoons," featuring Rebecca Noreen, assistant professor of music, and guest artists Garrett Bennett, Yeh-Chi Wang and Sue Zoellner-Cross at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8, in Evans Hall, Cummings Art Center at Connecticut College.
Hailing from the top orchestras and music schools in the state, the four bassoonists are coming together for a unique one-time performance of Renaissance and Baroque music, tangos and works by Prokofiev and Bozza.
In a performance that highlights the unusual bass and tenor sounds of the bassoon, the audience will have a blast with such surprising pieces as "The Entrance and Polka of the Bassoon Players," "I Was a Teenage Bassoon Player," and "The Gravy Waltz," featuring a improvisational jazz bassoonist.
