Camel Men Win Bearce/Tuneski Regatta on Thames River

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College men´s rowing team competed against the Coast Guard in the Bearce/Tuneski Regatta Wednesday. In the novice four, the Camels defeated the Bears in to win the Cup. Connecticut College crossed the finish line in 9:35 while the Bears completed the course in 9:52. Rob Jubinville (Granby, Mass.) was positioned in the stroke seat with Erin McDonald (Yardley, Pa.) guiding the Camels as the coxswain in the winning boat. Matt Murdock (Middletown, Conn.) and John Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) were joined by Matt Larkin (Trumbull, Conn.) in the bow seat for Connecticut College. The Coast Guard posted a time of 9:46 to defeat Connecticut College (10:15) in the second novice four regatta. Alex Vancil manned the stroke seat for the Camels and the boat was coxed by Marc Zhao (Chengdu, China). Luke Horton (Meredith, N.H.) and Jose Escallon (Bogota, Colombia) were joined by Adam Diamond (New York, N.Y.), who was seated in the bow.
