Camels Earn Split in Day One of Division III Eastern Champ.

UTICA, N.Y.--The Connecticut College women´s water polo team earned a split in the first day of action at the Division III Eastern Championship at Utica College. The Camels (6-6) dropped a 6-5 decision to Washington & Jefferson in the early match but rallied to take a 14-8 triumph against the host Pioneers of Utica in the night-cap. Kristin Lampley (Reading, Pa.) recorded hat-tricks in each of the two games and wrestled away 12 steals to lead the Camels on both sides of the ball. Seniors Phoebe Bakanas (Redding, Conn.) and Jordan Kohnstam (Portland, Conn.) scored two goals each in Friday´s action. Rookie net-minder Pamela Lovejoy (Guilford, Conn.) made 10 saves in the two matches.
