Camels Repeat as Conroy Division Champs
Garza Posts 23-5 Record in Rookie Season
PRINCETON, N.J.--The Connecticut College men´s squash team (16-11) repeated as Conroy Division Champions of the Squash Team National Championship by defeating Hobart 6-3.
In the winner´s column were Caleb Garza (Ocean City, N.J.) (23-5 on the season), senior Will Moger (Bristol, R.I.), playing in his last collegiate varsity match, Jeremy Wong (Newton, Mass.), Chris King (Princeton, N.J.), Asa Welty (Gloucester, Mass.) and Charlie Bolton (Bratenahl, Ohio). King and Bolton prevailed in tough five-setters.
"I can't say enough about this team," said Head Coach Bill McNally. "They never thought they were out of any match. The freshmen were the strength of team, but whenever the going got tough, everyone contributed."
The Camels reached the Championship game by defeating Wesleyan on their home court, by a score of 5-4. Freshmen Caleb Garza, Chris King, Asa Welty and John Bolton, joined sophomore Jonathan Markson (Allentown, Pa.) to notch the deciding victories. Senior Will Moger had a tantalizing loss of 12-10 in his fifth game.
