Shragge, Lasher Bury 10 Kills Each on Senior Night in New London
NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College volleyball team improved to 14-6 with a 3-0 victory against Salve Regina University on senior night at Luce Field House Thursday.
The Seahawks slip to 10-13 with the setback. The game scores were 25-21, 25-21, and 25-16 in favor of the home team.
All five members of the Connecticut College Class of 2011 contributed to the victory in their final home match in New London.
Jessie Lasher (Plymouth, Minn.) and Katie Shragge (San Diego, Calif.) registered 10 kills each to lead the hosts in their final home match. Molly Barrett (Medfield, Mass.) chipped in with seven blocks and seven kills for the winning side. Chelsea Manning (Cockeysville, Md.) registered four blocks for the hosts. Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) distributed 30 assists for the Camels and has now tallied 3281 helpers in her career.
Junior Amy Newman (Los Angeles, Calif.) added nine kills and Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) finished with 13 digs in the triumph.
Salve Regina junior Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.) finished with eight kills and two blocks in the match. Clare Adams (Concord, Ohio) contributed eight digs, four kills and a pair of blocks. Freshman Kelsey Stafstrom (Westford, Mass.) dished out 45 assists to lead the visitors.
Sophomore libero Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) chipped in with nine digs for the Seahawks.
