James Scores Twice, Parker Records 2500th Save
GORHAM, Maine --Junior Ross James (Orono, Maine) scored his second goal at 3:11 of overtime to lift the Connecticut College Camels (6-14-1, 5-10-1) to a 3-2 victory against the University of Southern Maine (8-11-3, 5-8-3) at the USM Ice Arena Friday night.
Senior Greg Parker (Trenton, Ontario) collected 26 saves, including the 2500th of his career for the Camels.
Trailing 2-0 after two periods of action, the Camels rallied for their second straight win. James opened the scoring at 5:58 of the third. Later on in the frame at the 11:36 mark, Julien Boutet (Amos, Quebec) scored the equalizer on the power play. Boutet buried a one-timer from the right circle for his 18th point of the season. Ryan Joyce (Dorchester, Mass.) and Dawson Luke (Wellesley, Mass.) had a hand in the score.
In the extra session, James buried a wrist shot from the point for the game-winner. Junior Greg Lever (Orangeville, Ontario) and sophomore Dustin Laren (Toronto, Ontario) assisted on the tally.
Junior Zach Joy (Dover, N.H.) scored his 19th goal of the season for the Huskies. Pat Noonan (Burlington, Mass.) provided his sixth score of the season for the hosts.
Tim Gerrish (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) made 35 saves in his third start of the season for USM.
