NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College Head Men´s Lacrosse Coach David Cornell has made two additions to his coaching staff for the upcoming 2010 season. Dan Corcoran and Thomas Nahornick have been named assistant coaches for the Camels. Topher Grossman, Connecticut College Class of 2005, returns to the sidelines for his third season as the lead assistant coach and goaltender coach. Corcoran arrives in New London after spending the past three years as the head coach at Simsbury High School in Simsbury, Conn. In his three seasons at the helm, his teams posted a 53-12 record and were 30-1 in conference games. In 2008, Corcoran was honored by the United States Lacrosse Association as the State of Connecticut Coach of the Year and was recognized by the Connecticut High School Lacrosse Coaches Association as its Coach of the Year for the Class L Division. Nahornick, a native of Groton, Conn., is a 2009 graduate of Western Connecticut State University. In 2008, Nahornick served as a team captain for the Colonials, leading the squad to a Little East Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Nahornick corralled 130 ground balls in three seasons of action with West Conn and is ranked fourth on the school´s all-time leader list for ground balls. Cornell is looking forward to having Corcoran and Nahornick on board for an exciting season of lacrosse. "We´re excited to have both Dan and Tom on our staff," Cornell said. "Both men are passionate about the game of lacrosse and have a terrific work ethic. Most importantly to our program is that they are very excited to be at Connecticut College. Our team is going to be able to learn a lot from them. They each bring different views of the game from the various programs they´ve been at and I´m excited to integrate their philosophies into our system." The Camels open the 2010 season Saturday, March 13 against Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
