Barker, Holland & Sanderson Score Goals for Camels
WELLESLEY, Mass. --Kat Barker (Dedham, Mass.), Ali Holland (Watertown, Mass.) and Laura Sanderson (Hanover, N.H.) scored goals and Connecticut College improved to 5-1 with a 3-2 victory against Wellesley College in a non-conference game played in Wellesley, Mass. Wednesday.
The Blue received goals from Allison Robbins (Bennington, Vt.) and Sarah Mohtes-Chan (Davis, Calif.).
Sarina Sawyer (Wilmette, Ill.) made nine saves for Wellesley while Aimee Rich (Darien, Conn.) stopped four shots for the Camels.
The Camels took the lead for good 5:38 into the second half. Sophomore Ali Holland (Watertown, Mass.) converted on a feed from Hanna Wagner (Sudbury, Mass.) to make it a 2-1 game.
The Camels opened up a 3-1 advantage on a penalty corner. Sanderson re-directed a blast from Abby Hine (Madison, Conn.) with 1:34 remaining.
Hine tied the program´s all-time scoring record held by three time All-American Emily Huffman ´04, collecting her 90th point with the helper.
Wellesley got one back late to make it a one goal game but the visitors were able to hold on for the 3-2 victory.
