Sizer Erupts with Six Goals for Camels at Northern Division Championship
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--The Connecticut College men´s water polo team visited MIT to compete in the Northern Division Championship this weekend.
The Camels (4-13) dropped all three of their matches to finish in eighth place but had some strong performances along the way.
In Saturday´s action, the Camels dropped a 22-3 decision to 14th ranked St Francis College and were upended by the Harvard Crimson in an 18-5 setback. Connecticut College played its closest match of the weekend Sunday in a 17-10 loss to Queens College.
Junior attacker Nick Sizer (Simsbury, Conn.) tickled the twine with six goals to lead the Camels offensively. Sophomore sharp-shooter Sam Burns (Albuquerque, N.M.) chipped in with five goals for Connecticut College. Ryan Pelham (Stonington, Conn.) netted three goals for the Camels.
Junior two-meter defender James Green (Bay Head, N.J.) contributed three steals and two scores. Freshman Jason Robb (Winnetka, Ill.) and sophomore Dan Moorin (Fairfield, Conn.) both scored goals against Queens Sunday.
Sophomore net-minder Clayton Witter (Douglassville, Pa.) registered 28 saves and eight steals in the three matches.
