Camels Place 11th out of 18 Teams at Sherman Hoyt Regatta
BOSTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College coed sailing team visited Boston this weekend to compete in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy Regatta hosted by Boston College. The Camels, ranked #9 in the latest Sailing World Magazine national ranking presented by Sperry Top-Sider, placed 11th in the 18 team field with a score of 114 points.
The weekend's hosts from BC won the regatta with a score of 72 points. Yale University placed second with 75 points and the Charleston Cougars scored 78 points en route to a third place showing.
Sophomore skipper Kevin Martland (Newport, R.I.) and Elizabeth Wilsterman (Winchester, Mass.) placed ninth in the A division with a score of 62 points. In the B division, senior Peter Miller (Paget, Bermuda) and Marina Gluckman (Chicago, Ill.) tallied 52 points en route to their 12th place showing for Connecticut College.
