Heros Nets 15 Goals in Three Matches for Connecticut College
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Carlos Heros (Key Biscayne, Fla.) exploded with 15 goals in three matches for the Connecticut College men's water polo team this weekend.
The Camels (1-6) dropped a 15-7 decision at Brown Friday night and played two tighter matches in their homecoming at Lott Natatorium. Saturday night, St. Francis defeated the Camels 16-10 and the Harvard Crimson recorded a 14-9 triumph Sunday.
Heros finished with 15 goals, two blocks and five steals in the three matches. Sophomore All-American Rob Spencer (Chevy Chase, Md.) chipped in with three goals, five blocks, five steals, one assist one earned ejection.
Senior Sam Burns (Albuquerque, N.M.) contributed with three goals and one steal. Junior All-American Clayton Witter (Douglassville, Pa.) netted four goals and added three steals and an earned ejection. Nick DiLeo (Coopersburg, Va.) dished out three assists to go with a pair of steals and one earned ejection.
Sam Buchman (Northfield, Ill.) registered 13 blocks to go with one steal. Brian Barasha (Fredericksburg, Va.) netted a goal to go with a steal and an earned ejection. Daniel Albers (Aloha, Ore.) recorded seven saves in the weekend's action.
The Camels will visit the Empire State of New York next Saturday for a pair of Northern Division Matches against Fordham University and Iona College.
