Heros Nets Four Goals for Camels
NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College men's water polo dropped a 14-9 decision to MIT Saturday. However, it was still a great day for Camels past and present to congregate in Lott Natatorium for Alumni Saturday.
The Engineers improved to 6-7 as they headed to St. Francis for their night match. The Camels are 2-8.
Freshman center Carlos Heros (Key Biscayne, Fla.) had another big day, scoring four goals to go with three earned ejections and one block. Nick DiLeo (Coopersburg, Pa.) chipped in with two goals, one steal and three earned ejections. Junior Jason Robb (Winnetka, Ill.) added a goal and an earned ejection for the hosts.
Senior center Sam Burns (Albuquerque, N.M.) scored a goal and earned three ejections. Paul MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass.) chipped in with a goal for the home team.
Junior All-American Clayton Witter (Douglassville, Pa.) made 14 blocks in the cage.
First year utility Kale Rogers (Newberg, Ore.) scored six goals to lead the Engineers to the win. Craig Cheney (Sherwood, Ore.), Ory Tasman (Orlando, Fla.) and Joe Kusters (Coronado, Calif.) scored two goals each. Jack Clark (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and Michael Farid (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) chipped in with single tallies for the visitors.
MIT senior Kevin Hsiue (Alamo, Calif.) recorded six blocks in the cage.
As mentioned earlier, numerous Camel alumni were in attendance, including All-Americans James Green '12 and Alex Feinstein '07.
