Kerr Scores Second Half Equalizer, Camels Post Fifth Tie of Season
NEW LONDON, Conn.-Dillon Kerr (West Roxbury, Mass.) scored in the 47th minute of action to lead the Connecticut College men's soccer team to its fifth draw of the season, a 1-1 tie with Middlebury College.
The Camels improve their record to 3-2-5 and are 0-2-5 in NESCAC play. The Panthers are 5-4-1 with a 2-4-1 record in conference play.
Jack Freeman (Ridgewood, N.J.) opened the scoring in the 10th minute of action when her buried a penalty kick inside the left post.
But Marino Patrk (Greenwich, Conn.) made a nifty looking play in the second minute of the second stanza, delivering a low cross out in front for Kerr, who one-timed one into the back of the net.
Zach Abdu-Glass (Lexington, Mass.) stopped 10 shots in the contest for the Panthers. Junior Casey Marini (Hampden, Mass.) made six saves for the Camels.
Junior Billy Hawkey (Pennington, N.J.) recorded a game-high six shots for Connecticut College. Deklan Robinson (Hamilton, Mass.) had four shots for the Panthers.
Connecticut College held a 15-to-14 advantage in shots and also enjoyed a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
