The women's water polo team celebrates its second consecutive CWPA championship.

Another year, another conference title for the women’s water polo team. With a team stocked with young talent – and no seniors – it very well may be the making of a dynasty.

Juniors Nicky Jasbon and Kate Jacobson each had two goals to lead the Division III No. 10-ranked Camels to a 7-3 victory over Division III No. 9-ranked Washington and Jefferson College for the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) league title.  With no other varsity programs in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), the team competes in the CWPA Division III league, formed in 2009 for teams from Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The victory earns the Camels an automatic berth in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship April 25-27 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

Also for the second year in a row, Jasbon was honored as the championship’s Most Valuable Player.

"Our team defense is what won us the championship," co-captain Abbey Wrobleski ’15 said. "We played together and helped each other every play of the game."

Connecticut College never trailed in the game as Jasbon put the Camels in front with 6:52 left in the first quarter. The Camels built a 5-1 halftime lead and the four-goal deficit proved to be too much for the Presidents.

The conference title is the first for acting head coach Ryan Pryor, who served as assistant coach last season.

Seeds for the CWPA Championship will be announced later this week.
