Senior art majors showcase their works May 5-21

Eighteen art majors will present and discuss their works at an exhibition opening at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in the Cummings Arts Center galleries, followed by a 6 p.m. awards ceremony. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, runs through May 21, and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The exhibition will showcase the artworks of the eighteen graduating millennials as they search for their authentic voices through various subject matter and material. Interpersonal relationships, identity, anxiety disorders, and the body are just a few of the themes explored. The show is diverse, including artworks that touch a political nerve regarding gun violence to others generated from food waste. Photography, painting, sculpture, sound and video are among the mediums used to investigate the varied themes.

Seniors include Anna Peterson, Annika Tucksmith, Brynne Rardin, Donglin Li, Elizabeth Green, Emily Walsh, Emma Schlichting, James Robinson, Jillian Yaun, Jasmine Massa, Katherine Chester, Melissa Luen, Mei Reffsin, Molli Udis, Noah Landy, Samantha Butler and Samuel Badot-Fisher.
