Jen Manion, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of History and Director of the LGBTQ Resource Center.

Students

Student coordinators are selected in an application process at the beginning of each academic year. Four to five coordinators are active each semester. This year's coordinators include:

  • Anthony Guerrero ’16 is from the Bronx, N.Y. He is a biochemistry and molecular biology double major, Unity House monitor, Student Adviser, and Queer People of Color (+) member.
  • Michael Murgo ’15 is from Manchester, N.H. He is a psychology major, gender and women’s studies minor, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy scholar, Diversity Peer Educator, and psychology department student advisory board member.
  • Amber Villanueva ’14 is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is a gender and women’s studies major, English minor, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy scholar, Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow (MMUF), Roth Writing Center tutor, and Queer People of Color (+) member.

Many other students volunteer or are employed on a work-study basis at the Center as staff members, keeping the Center open on a daily schedule. These staffers give life and personality to the Center when they work, and provide a fresh face to every visitor. This year's staff are listed below.

Student organization leaders:

  • AnnaLeah Cogan ’15 is from Los Angeles, Calif. and is a co-chair of Connecticut College Queer and Questioning. She is a photography and colonial studies self-designed double major, equestrian team member and Underexposed contributor.
  • Brian Damacio ’16 is from Chicago, Ill. and is the chair of Spectrum. He is a gender and women’s studies major, Movimiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlán (MEChA) member, Queer People of Color (+) member, African American, Latin@, Asian American and Native American (ALANA) Big Sib and Unity Gospel Choir member.
  • Karina Hernandez ’14 is from the Dominican Republic and the Bronx, N.Y. and is a co-chair of Queer People of Color (+).  She is an English and history double major, gender and women’s studies minor, Housefellow, Unity House Ambassador, Diversity Council member, captain of women’s rugby and Roth Writing Center tutor.
  • Anthony Sis ’14 is from Chicago, Ill. and is a co-chair of Queer People of Color (+). He is a gender and women’s studies and government double major, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy scholar, Housefellow, Senior Admission Fellow, SafetyNet member, and Exodus student.

Peer Educators:

  • Jae Majors ’15 is from the Bronx, N.Y.  He is a gender and women’s studies and sociology double major, La Unidad member, Umoja member, and Movimiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlán (MEChA) member.
  • Jamie McKaie ’15 is from Queens, N.Y.  She is a gender and women’s studies major, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy scholar, Queer People of Color (+) member, Movimiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlán (MEChA) member and Diversity Peer Educator and is involved at the WCNI radio station and in the Unitarian Universalist campus ministry.
  • Juan Pablo Pacheco ’14 is from Bogota, Colombia. He is a film and cultural studies self-designed double major.
  • CJ Robinson ’16 is from the Bronx, N.Y. He is an American Chemical Society (ACS) certified biochemistry major, sociology minor, admission tour guide, student ambassador, Science Leader, N2O improv group member, Student Activities Council (SAC) member and possible future student blogger for CCLive.
  • Fara Rodriguez ’16 is from Santa Anna, Calif. She is a government and film studies double major, women’s rugby member, African American, Latin@, Asian American and Native American (ALANA) Big Sib and Spectrum member.
