SOMERVILLE, Mass.--The Connecticut College Men´s and Women´s Track & Field Teams competed in the 2010 New England Division III Championship at the Dussault Track & Field Complex on the campus of Tufts University Saturday. Senior Alex Samma (Ougadougou, Burkina Faso) covered a distance of 48 feet, two and three quarters of an inch to win the New England Division III crown in the triple jump for the Camels. Samma has not officially qualified for the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, but his performance Saturday has put him in a prime position to achieve that objective as a provisional qualifier. In the 4x100 meter relay, Brian Gooch (Columbia, N.H.), Alex DeShields (Melrose, Mass.), Rob Webbe (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Tommy Howd (Sudbury, Mass.) set a school record with a time of 44.20 seconds in a ninth place showing for Connecticut College.
