Troy, Murphy Are All-Americans for Connecticut College
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.--Connecticut College senior Pat Troy (Bradford, N.H.), junior Sarah Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.) and sophomore Tim Walsh (Lincoln Park, N.J.) competed in the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Troy and Murphy capped off a successful season with All-America performances at Nationals.
Troy (Bradford, N.H.) garnered All-America honors with his sixth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 49.61 seconds for the Camels. In addition to his All-America performance, Troy also placed 23rd in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.06 seconds in the prelims and was 29th with a time of 46.37 seconds in the 100 yard freestyle.
Walsh was 19th in the 100 yard back and 26th in the 200 yard back with respective times of 51.17 seconds and 1:52.55. In the 50 yard freestyle, Walsh finished 39th in 21.33 seconds.
Murphy earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.40. She was 23rd in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.68 seconds and posted a time of 2:11.40 to place 37thin the 200 yard individual medley.
With their 13 points, the Camel men finished in a 39th place tie with Alma College at the Championship. Murphy´s three-points propelled the Camels to a 50th place finish in the Women´s Championship.
