Porter Explodes with 31 Points and 11 Rebounds for Camels
MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--Wesleyan University (10-12, 2-5) earned a 79-70 victory against visiting Connecticut College (9-13, 1-6) in NESCAC men´s basketball action played at Middletown, Conn. Saturday. Connecticut College sophomore Demetrius Porter (Virginia Beach. Va.) exploded with 31 points and 11 rebounds but it was not enough.
On the heels of his 33 points outburst at Hunter Monday night, Porter was 7-for-14 from the field and 17-for-18 at the charity stripe in his seventh double-double of the season. Shavar Bernier (Dover, N.H.) netted 21 points and added six rebounds in the loss. Bernier moved into 12th place on the program´s all-time scoring list with 1137 points.
Rob Harrigan (Milford, Conn.) netted 12 points for the visitors.
Shasha Brown (Bronx, N.Y.) paced the Cardinals with 19 points, leading four players in double figures. David Fogel (Hewlett Bay Park, N.Y.) scored 13 points for Wesleyan. Greg St. Jean (Danville, Calif.) finished with 12 points and Mike Callaghan (Madison, Conn.) reached double digits with 10 points for the winning side.
