Peer Tutoring

The center employs peer tutors recommended by faculty to offer free group and drop-in sessions as well as one-on-one peer tutoring to Connecticut College students. The tutoring services aim to foster self-directed and reflective learning, empowering students to employ effective strategies for academic success.

Group/Drop-In Sessions

Course specific Group/Drop-in Sessions are scheduled for each semester. For the current academic year, please see Group/Drop-in Schedule.

Individual Tutor Request

Students can also sign up for individual tutoring if they need additional support besides the scheduled group/drop-in sessions. Please fill out the Individual Tutor Request Form to request an individual tutor.

Courses

Quantitative Reasoning (2-credit)

This course is designed to support students for success in courses that demand a strong quantitative foundation. The course covers a range of topics, including percentages, ratios, proportions, scientific notation, estimation, accuracy and precision, unit conversion, evaluation and manipulation of equations, inductive and deductive reasoning and descriptive statistics. These concepts are studied and practiced within various disciplinary contexts, with the integration of spreadsheet usage throughout the course.

Functions (2-Credit)

This course is designed to support students for success in courses that demand a solid understanding of functions. The topics that the course covers include the study of linear functions, linear regression, polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions. The use and application of these functions in a variety of discipline specific settings are emphasized alongside with the use of spreadsheets and graphing utilities.
