Welcome to the Connecticut College chapter of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) Program.
Established in the 1988/1989 academic year, the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) is committed to broadening the range of scholarly perspectives in the US academy, with a focus on the humanities and the humanistic social sciences. Its name honors Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, the noted African American educator, statesman, minister, former president of Morehouse College, and mentor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mellon partners with member colleges and universities to identify and support students of great promise and, through a process that emphasizes mentoring, research support, programming, and student cohort building, help them become scholars and professionals of the highest distinction.
Connecticut College joined the MMUF family in 2008 and continues to support a thriving program. One of the reasons for our successful partnership with the Mellon Foundation is the commitment we share to advancing the common good through education.
MMUF students are among the best and brightest in the nation and are sure to make powerful contributions to their fields of study as well as to their local and global communities.
