Since arriving on campus, President Chapdelaine has focused on meaningful engagement with the entire Connecticut College community, transparent communication, and strengthening shared governance to develop a unified vision for the future.

Student-Centered Excellence

President Chapdelaine is committed to ensuring that every student experiences a personalized, purposeful, and integrative education. She champions innovative teaching, robust advising, and high-impact learning experiences that prepare students to lead lives of meaning and impact.

Connections in Action

Building on the strength of the Connections curriculum, she is focused on deepening interdisciplinary learning and expanding opportunities for students to connect their academic work with real-world challenges on campus, in New London, and around the globe.

Equity, Community, and Shared Governance

A core priority of her presidency is fostering a community of belonging rooted in shared responsibility. She has prioritized listening and collaboration with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees to strengthen shared governance and to ensure that decisions reflect the values and aspirations of the full Connecticut College community.

Long-Term Strength and Sustainability

As a national leader on the boards of the American Association of Colleges and Universities and the Council of Independent Colleges, and as a member of a national task force on the financial sustainability of private higher education, President Chapdelaine brings a broad perspective to safeguarding Conn’s long-term excellence and institutional strength.
