Dear Parents,

Welcome to Connecticut College, a wonderful place for living, learning and growing. Our historic campus — named one of the 10 most beautiful campuses in the country — is one of our greatest assets, and I hope it becomes a "home away from home" for your students.

Our faculty, staff and students create a diverse and very special community here. They care about each other's well-being and success. As a result, intellectual development, personal growth, and a shared responsibility for the success of the College is fostered across campus.

I know you will witness the transforming nature of a liberal arts education as our faculty dare students to become creative, thoughtful, adept and socially responsible leaders.

Thank you for entrusting Connecticut College with your child’s education.

Brad Brown Family

Dear Parents,

As parents of a current student (Samantha '15) and a recent Conn alumna (Isobel '12), we have come to appreciate the unique learning and development environment available for students at Connecticut College. Like many of you, we came onto campus with a fully loaded car, high hopes and expectations for our one-of-a-kind daughter. Today, we know that our daughters have prospered at Conn thanks to the faculty mentoring, supportive campus community, academic rigor and off-campus real world experiences!

What we didn't know ahead of time is that there are many ways for parents to stay involved as well. If you want to join in, we say, "Do it!" The College offers parent events throughout the academic year, beginning with Orientation on Aug. 22. Mark your calendars for Fall Weekend, our annual celebration for parents, alumni and students, Oct. 10-12, 2014, and make your hotel reservations early. Come to campus to check in on your student, and join lectures, concerts and athletic events.

In addition, The Parents Fund is a vital component of Connecticut College’s Annual Fund, which provides immediate unrestricted dollars that support virtually every aspect of a Connecticut College education. We contribute to the Fund to support the extraordinary education and opportunities that the College provides their students.

We hope you enjoy witnessing your student's transformation at Connecticut College just as we have. Welcome!

Student life

Dear Parents,

At Connecticut College, our mission is to educate students “to put the liberal arts into action as citizens in a global society.” The Office of the Dean of the College supports that goal by ensuring the quality of the academic and student experiences.

We work closely with students throughout the year to help them take advantage of the many benefits of living in a residential learning community. We believe that student engagement and empowerment are essential ingredients for the success of Connecticut College students now and in the future.

Parents are vitally important partners in our students’ journeys through these formative years. With that in mind, we invite you to explore what the College has to offer across the campus and in the residence halls to educate your family about day-to-day life here.
