Who is the ARC for?

ARC services are free and available to all students who want to improve their academic skills. Do you want to stand out in something that you’re passionate about? Do you need help getting through a difficult course? We can help you take your skills to the next level.

Where is the ARC?

We are located in the center of campus within the Office of Academic Support on the second floor of Shain Library.

When is the ARC open?

Professional staff are in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00. We have limited availability in the evenings and weekends (please inquire). Additionally, peer tutoring services sponsored by the ARC and QSC are available most days and evenings. Please see the tutoring schedule for more information.

How do I make an appointment?

Walking in during business hours is the simplest way to connect with us. Sometimes a learning specialist will be available for at least a preliminary appointment. If not, we can almost always meet with you within one business day.
You can also email or call.

What kind of services does the ARC offer?

We can help with any aspect of your studies. Here are some of the more common things we meet with students about:

  • Time management - There are lots of good online tools available, but nothing beats meeting with someone and talking through your schedule and priorities!
  • Study skills - These evolve from high school to college, and at various stages of your undergraduate journey. We can help you get the most out of your study time!
  • Project management and writing - We collaborate with the Roth Writing Center to provide support at any stage of the writing process, supporting students who find writing especially daunting
