Fixed Route Bus (Bus Route 1)
There are lots of ways to explore New London and the surrounding region. Here are just a few of the options available to help you get where you want to go:
TWO OPTIONS TO RIDE THE BUS - see map
SEAT Token Transit (Begin Using December 1, 2022)
CAMEL RIDE BY LYFT
Connecticut College partners with Lyft to provide students with discounted transportation to specific ride locations in the area. Students will receive 4 discounted rides (2 round trip rides) per month up to $15 each to/from specific locations that will be accessible directly through your personal Lyft app. You can maximize the number of rides per month by sharing rides with friends.
WALKING, BIKING, AND RUNNING
Bikes are a great way to get around campus and the region. Bike racks are available in many locations on campus and in the City of New London; however you will want to bring your own locking device. We also encourage you to register your bicycle with Campus Safety at no cost. Bikes can be stored in some residence halls; however motorbikes are not permitted in the residences.
New London is served by Amtrak, with convenient rail service to and from New York; Boston; Providence; Washington, D.C. and beyond. Visit the Amtrak website for travel specials, reservations, schedules and station hours, or call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).
From New London you can also travel to New Haven and stops along the way using CT Rail Shoreline East and in New Haven switch to MTA Metro-North to get to NY City or stops in between New Haven and NY City.
New London's Union Station at 27 Water Street is accessible via SEAT Fixed Route Bus, New London Smart Ride, and Lyft (on Sundays).
