Emily Kuder's research areas include didactic speech styles, Spanish intonation and rhythm, and Spanish second language teaching and learning.

Kuder joined Connecticut College in Fall 2017 and has since added many new courses to our curriculum such as Spanish for the Professions (SPA 202), Sounds of Spanish (SPA 312/412), and Social and Regional Dialects of Spanish (SPA 313/413). Her courses feature a unique combination of open educational resources as course content and involve creative activities, interactive tasks, and challenging research projects that are scaffolded throughout the semester. Kuder has authored e-books sharing pedagogical materials with colleagues, and produces scholarly work on pedagogical best practices and materials development. Moreover, Kuder is a core faculty member in CISLA as well as the Social Justice and Sustainability Pathway.
