Sana Abdi Dalton's research interests include Franco-Arab postcolonial literature, stylistics, bilingualism, and translation. Her current book project on contemporary North African poetry examines how Arabic, both textually and intertextually, shapes the French verse. By tracing linguistic and literary references to Arabic in the French corpus, she examines the stylistic forms of bilingual writing and their reception.
Prior to joining Connecticut College in 2022, Abdi taught language, literature, and culture courses at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the University of Virginia, and the University of Kairouan, Tunisia. At Conn, she teaches broadly across the curriculum, from introductory and intermediate language courses to 300-level classes like Introduction à la Francophonie, and advanced 400-level courses such as Speaking French to Power.
