A Cappella Collab

The Rev. Stephanie Haskins, chaplain of the College and associate dean of Religious and Spiritual Life, imparts ashes on Gray Ruffer ’26 as part of Ash Wednesday observances. In many Christian denominations, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the lenten season leading up to Easter.

Students cut and knot fleece blankets during a blanket-tying event hosted by the Conn chapter of the Givora Foundation and Asian Students in Action (ASIA) on Feb. 28 in the Ernst Common Room. Givora, co-founded by Jerry Lin ’29, secured a $500 student community engagement grant from the Holleran Center in partnership with New London’s Lawrence + Memorial Hospital to purchase the fabric. The blankets will be donated to the hospital to be used by children being treated there.

Lunar New Year

100 Years of FDLP

On Feb. 17, in honor of Connecticut College’s 100th anniversary in the Federal Depository Library Program, Superintendent of Documents for the Government Publishing Office Scott Matheson presented a plaque to Vice President for Information Services and College Librarian Matthew Gardzina in the Charles Chu Asian Art Reading Room at Shain Library. The FDLP was established by Congress in 1813 to ensure that the American public has access to government information in depository libraries throughout the U.S. and its territories. ‘Promenade’
