The Connecticut College Arboretum will host a Spring Pruning workshop on Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn which trees, shrubs and plants require pruning, how to do it and what tools to use, from one of the people responsible for keeping the College and its 750-acre Arboretum beautiful. "When people new to the College arrive on campus, they are always amazed at its beauty. Jim Luce, who will be teaching this workshop, is supervisor of grounds, so participants can be assured they are learning from the best," said Kathy Dame, assistant director of the Arboretum. The cost to attend the workshop is $7 for Arboretum members and $9 for the general public. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. in the lounge of Olin Science Center. There will be a brief lecture inside before the workshop moves outside for hands-on pruning. To view other events on campus this month, visit the Connecticut College calendar of events.
