Art departments offering day trips to NYC museums

The Connecticut College departments of art history and studio art have made it easy to experience the art and culture of New York City with bus trips that leave right from campus.

Students, staff, faculty and the general public are invited to come along on a day trip that includes stops at several art museums — the Guggenheim, Metropolitan, Whitney and Museum of Modern Art — as well as the neighborhoods of SoHo and Chelsea. Passengers can disembark at any time and meet the bus in the evening for the return trip.

Upcoming trips are on Saturday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Dec. 7. There will also be two trips in the spring, on Saturday, March 29, and Saturday, April 12.

The buses will depart at 8 a.m. from the College’s Cummings Arts Center (the east side of the building, facing Route 32, near the loading dock) and will leave New York at 8 p.m. from an area near The Atrium of the IBM building located at 56th and 57th streets and Madison Avenue.

Tickets are $35 for Connecticut College students and $45 for other passengers and can be purchased with cash or by check. There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual can purchase, but they must be paid for by the Monday prior to the trip. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Debbie Radachy at 860-439-2740.
