CISLA celebrates 20 years

Please join us June 1 - June 2 when the Toor Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA) will celebrate its 20th reunion.

If you are already on campus for Reunion 2012, we hope you will take time out of your busy schedule to attend one or more of the special events planned to mark this milestone anniversary. However, you do not have to be celebrating your reunion this year to join us. All CISLA alumni are invited to return to campus for this special event.

On Friday night, CISLA will host a dinner and reception under the tent on Larrabee Green. Faculty, staff, and current and former CISLA directors will all be in attendance. The event is from 5:30 - 8 p.m.

After the reception, you’re welcome to attend the Reunion 2012 keynote address on the Arab Spring by Alex Hybel, the Susan Eckert Lynch '62 Professor of Government. Hybel was director of CISLA from 1992-94.

On Saturday,, CISLA will host a brunch at 10 a.m. in the Manwaring Gallery of the Cummings Arts Center.

As one of the College’s five interdisciplinary academic centers, CISLA allows students to internationalize any major through intensive foreign language study and a funded internship in the country of their academic focus.

CISLA alumni will have their own residence and hospitality room in Park House. For hotel options, you can contact Linda Camelio, assistant to the director and associate director of CISLA at 860-439-2440. Come back and share what made your own CISLA experience unforgettable!
