Dance Club show features choreography in several genres
The Connecticut College Dance Club will perform the works of student choreographers in an untitled show, Feb. 28-March 2.
The program will feature a variety of styles and themes, from jazz to post-modern, illustrating the diversity of the Dance Club and resulting in a show that is extremely different from past performances. Student choreographers submitted pieces for consideration and a panel of student adjudicators selected those that would be performed in the show.
The Dance Club is run entirely by students, so in addition to the choreographers and performers, students also stage-manage, work backstage and produce the show, allowing a variety of students to participate in the creative process.
“It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of Connecticut College; the chance to collaborate with and perform the work of such creative and talented students is really inspiring,” said Meg Robbins ’15, a member of the Dance Club. ¬ The cost of the show is $4 for students and seniors, and $6 for general admission. The Dance Club will sell tickets in the College Center at Crozier-Williams between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 25 through March 1. Tickets will also be sold at the door if seats are still available.
All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in Myers Studio on the third floor of the College Center at Crozier-Williams. For more information, call 860-439-2830.
The Dance Club will also perform the show for students of the Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London.
