Music students and faculty end year on high note

The Connecticut College Department of Music has a full slate of concerts scheduled this spring, with programs as varied as the musicians performing.

The following are free and open to the public:

Chamber Choir and Camel Heard present Byrd’s “Mass for Four Voices” and the music of Brahms, Britten and beyond. Directed by Assistant Professor of Music Wendy.

A Benefit Concert for Habitat for Humanity
Featuring the combined Connecticut College Concert and U.S. Coast Guard Academy Bands and soloists Emily Verschoor-Kirss ’15, saxophone, and Lauren Vunderink ’15, French horn. Directed by Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Gary Buttery.

Spring Orchestra Concert
Assistant Professor of Music Mark Seto conducts the Connecticut College Orchestra and solo cellist Claire Raizen ’18, winner of this year’s Concerto Competition, in performances of Copland’s “John Henry,” Schumann’s “Cello Concerto,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphone No. 2.”
