onStage at Connecticut College presents Haitian Ragganga artist BélO on Friday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. in Evans Hall. The singer/songwriter is hailed as Haiti's musical ambassador to the world. Known for a musical style, "Ragganga," that combines reggae, jazz, rock, worldbeat and "Rara" traditional Vodou rhythms, BélO delivers sensitive messages with a sophisticated sound. "His mix of reggae with jazz and slicker pop has made him a star both at home and in Europe," wrote one reviewer in the New York Daily News.
