Water polo hosts D3 championship, seeks 4th straight title

The Connecticut College Women’s water polo team will host the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship this weekend when the Camels hope to gain their fourth consecutive title. The three-time division champs will compete against Macalester in the opening round at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the College’s Lott Natatorium. If they win two matches on Saturday, they will advance to the championship match Sunday at 1 p.m.

The team, currently 12-6 (this season), is lead by senior All-American Kelsey Millward from Quebec and senior Abbey Wrobleski from Hawaii. Millward has racked up an impressive 61 goals and 31 earned ejections this season, while Wrobleski has 14 goals, 19 assists and 15 steals. Brianna Harrity, a junior from Pennsylvania, has tallied 24 goals, 19 assists and 15 steals. In her first full season as starter, junior Sarah Sovia has made 150 saves in the cage.

The competition is open to the public. All matches take place in the Lott Natatorium at the College’s Athletic Complex.
