President Bergeron welcomes alumnae who have celebrated their 50th Reunion to join her in a special toast for the Class of 1968. Enjoy a panel discussion with Kathryn Bard, Katherine Susman Howe, Judith Irving, Amy Greenberg Poster, and Carol Caruso Mancusi-Ungaro, who have all had prominent careers in the visual arts. Our panelists will share their personal stories and achievements and then will turn the conversation to an interactive discussion.
During the Class of '68's time on campus, Connecticut College had a substantial number of students interested in the arts. Since their departure from New London, a significant number of classmates have established accomplished careers as curators, directors, art historians, university professors, and artists. Was this a renaissance or national phenomenon? Were CC's art and history departments experiencing a Golden Age? Did the Women's Movement empower classmates to be more daring or did more elite colleges open their doors to women? These questions, among many others, will be explored.
