About Freeman House

Freeman House is located at the bottom of Tempel Green, near Freeman Field and across from Cummings Arts Center. Freeman is connected to Jane Addams (JA) House and the two residence houses share a kitchen, each with a dining hall. Freeman Dining Hall (see below) offers vegan options, a full lunch menu, interactive dinners M-Th, and Halal dinners on Friday. JA offers a full-service breakfast M-Fr; lunch until 2 p.m., a quick-service sandwich and salad menu; hot entrees and the popular Tuesday/Thursday soup and bread.

The language tables (formerly in Knowlton) have been moved to Freeman Dining Hall. Step into the Freeman dining hall and step into another world. At the various language tables, you'll find students, faculty, staff and emeritus professors speaking a designated language throughout the meal. It is a perfect place to improve your proficiency.

Students of all genders and class years live in Freeman; however the fourth floor is one of the single-sex floors available as an alternative housing option. The fifth floor is a four-person suite known as "Freeman Tower" that's available to sophomores, juniors and seniors as a common interest or independent living option.
