Few things contribute more to making Connecticut College the highly personalized, challenging academic experience it is than the Annual Fund. Gifts to the Annual Fund have an enormous impact. They support every aspect of the educational experience from student financial aid to faculty salaries — and everything in between.
Keeping people engaged in the Annual Fund and well informed about its strategic role is not an easy task. It requires a thoughtful blend of messages and creativity that both educates and inspires participation across generations.
This year, a new approach is under way, and it’s a bit unconventional.
Called Annual Fund Heroes, the idea is to present serious facts about the Annual Fund’s impact in a more whimsical, comic-book style. A series of four comic books features superheroes who show how the Annual Fund transforms the community, unveiling through colorful illustration and dialogue the depth and breadth of the fund’s reach. Paired with the comic books are profiles of individuals who share the reasons they contribute to the Annual Fund. Their stories illustrate the difference that giving makes to the entire Connecticut College community.
The goal of this new approach is to educate, inspire and rally support. Annual Fund Heroes are everywhere around us, and this campaign honors the thousands of alumni, parents and friends who understand how vital the Annual Fund is to supporting every student, professor, program and department on campus.
