On Dec. 11, Vadas scored his 1,000th career point in an 83-74 triumph against hometown rival Mitchell College. He has netted 30 points or more on six occasions and is leading the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with an average of 22.2 points per game and 3.6 three-point makes per outing. He also ranks fifth in rebounds with an average of 7.3.
Vadas scores a lot, but 43 points – more than were scored by rest of the team combined – is quite a feat in a single game. The previous record of 42 was set by Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame member Jim Cawley ’74 in 1972.
“I have never had a game like that,” Vadas said. “It felt good knowing that my teammates were behind me and trusted me enough to know that if I had a shot, I could take it.”
