Connecticut College continues to be one of the country’s best educational values, according to the Princeton Review and Kiplinger’s.

As it has the previous three years, the College appears on the Princeton Review’s list (alphabetical this year) of the 150 Best Value Colleges for 2014. The education services company recognizes 75 public and 75 private undergraduate schools that it says feature excellent academics, generous financial aid and an attractive cost of attendance.

The Kiplinger organization, publisher of business forecasts and personal financial advice, named the College to its 2014 list of the 35 Best College Values in New England. The College was ranked 12th among liberal arts colleges in the region.

Kiplinger’s says its rankings are derived from a measure of academic quality, which is then heavily weighted with such factors as financial aid packages (excluding loans). Extra credit is given to schools that “hold down debt and steer students toward a diploma within four years,” the organization says.

In other recent rankings, Connecticut College was selected as the best college in Connecticut by TheBestSchools.org. According to TheBestSchools.org, the selection was based on the reputation of the school and its faculty, its dedication to a broad liberal arts education, its accreditation, and its overall academic caliber compared to other institutions of the same type within the state. Connecticut College joined Yale University as the top two schools in Connecticut in this ranking of the top 100 colleges and universities — an undergraduate institution and a research university from each state — in the country.
