The Department of Music will host five performances in one week, showcasing talented students, faculty, and guests on a variety of instruments and in a variety of genres.
“May is a very busy month, with final exams and Commencement, so I’m especially pleased that our music students and faculty are able to produce these wonderful performances,” said Midge Thomas, associate professor and chair of the music department. “They cap off a remarkable year of music and for music at the College, with the Inauguration of a noted music scholar — Katherine Bergeron — as our 11th president. Her influence will undoubtedly enrich an already robust musical scene on campus.”

Connecticut College Orchestra Spring Concert
Featuring Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and the winner of the College’s annual Concerto Competition, Emily Verschoor-Kirss ’15, soprano saxophone. Directed by , assistant professor of music. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for students and seniors, and free to Connecticut College students, staff and faculty.

Premiering electronic and acoustic compositions by students of Arthur Kreiger, the Sylvia Pasternack Marx Professor of Music, and featuring student and faculty performers.
