Sprout is a student-run organic garden located behind the College Center at Crozier-Williams ("Cro"). The Sprout Garden provides an educational space and community in which students, in collaboration with faculty and staff, can gain hands-on experience with sustainable, small-scale agriculture, integrate sustainable agriculture into the curriculum, and build community around the planting, growing and consumption of ethically grown food.
The goals of the Sprout Garden are to:
- Provide hands-on educational opportunities for students, faculty and staff by growing food and gaining agricultural skills and knowledge
- Build community around food by encouraging more participation and engagement with the garden by members of the campus as well as the broader community
- Serve as a symbol of the College’s commitment to sustainability
