Study Away

The biology department encourages its biological science majors to take advantage of opportunities to study away.

Our biology majors routinely study in Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Australia and other locations. The College's Office of Study Away has a full listing of College-approved programs, including the unique SATA, Study Away Teach Away program.

Within our curriculum, we offer a tropical biology course in which students travel with faculty over spring break to complete research projects in Belize. Pictured above is the 2008 group of professors and their student researchers in Belize.

You may also choose a semester of study at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass., through the Marine Biological Laboratory Semester Program and other similar programs.
