Many required courses for the physics major are only offered alternate years. Our current plans for offering these courses can be found in the table below. Please note that this table only includes PHY and AST courses required for one of the concentrations within the physics major. In particular, electives are not included in the table; they will be offered as staffing permits. Should these planned offerings change, we will update this page promptly, and declared physics majors will also be informed via e-mail.
The table below also includes mathematics courses that are prerequisites for one or more PHY courses required for the major:
- MAT 212, which is a prerequisite for PHY 324 and PHY 404
- MAT 225, which is a prerequisite or parallel for PHY 319 & PHY 320 and is recommended for PHY 324
- MAT 226, which is a prerequisite for PHY 404
The schedule of mathematics course offerings is determined by the Dept. of Mathematics and Statistics. While we will endeavor to keep this information up to date, students should verify this information with the math department for maximum certainty.
