Message from Dean R. Danielle Egan

As Dean of the Faculty, I take great pleasure in supporting the work of my colleagues and our curriculum. The faculty, at Connecticut College, exemplify our mission of the liberal arts in action.  They are passionate teachers, scholars, and artists. Our faculty shape conversations in their fields, produce evocative works in galleries, music halls, and on stage, are critical voices in national dialogue on a variety of issues, and work for social transformation in our community, our culture, and across the globe. Many of our faculty have won national recognition and highly competitive grants for their teaching and research. At Conn, they often collaborate across departments and work together on best practices for their classrooms. They are active participants in the work of shared governance and creatively imagine new directions for our curriculum. Moreover, they are engaged in the collective and continued work of equity and inclusion. The faculty, through exceptional curricular and community engagement, are preparing Connecticut College students to be leaders and innovators in their various fields. Their commitment to their students as well as their scholarly and creative practice – gives the campus its intellectual vibrancy and shapes our reputation as one of the nation's best liberal arts colleges.
