Giving

Memberships are essential to ensuring the Arboretum continues its long-standing commitment to conservation and supporting research and teaching in ecological and environmental studies. Our members make what we do here at the Arboretum possible.  Benefits include:

• Free admission to the American Horticulture Society Garden Network of over 400 gardens 

• Borrowing privileges at the Connecticut College Library, including our extensive Arboretum library at 33 Gallows Lane.

Membership

Student Engagement

Working alongside students in Horticulture, Curation/Information Resources, and Urban Forestry during the summer and throughout the academic year complements Botany, Biology, and Environmental Studies well.  Please consider working with us outside among the trees while at Conn.  Our jobs are posted on Handshake.

Our staff teaches and and guest lectures in the Botany and Geology Department regularly.   

ArboProject is a student-run education program that fosters environmental stewardship values while enhancing and complimenting the science education of youth in and around New London.  Our students lead engaging age-appropriate and content-specific tours involving hands-on educational activities as a Program Coordinator or tour volunteer.  Interested?  Email us at arbor@conncoll.edu.

Volunteer

Our Volunteer Program allows the Arboretum to further its mission.  Volunteer opportunities for students and community members include leading tours, teaching workshops and working in the landscape. We annually host our SALT Conference, Plant Sale, Arbor Day Celebration and Music in the Meadow.  We welcome your time and appreciate you emailing us at arbor@conncoll.edu to let us know your availability and interests.
