Final Assignments/Examinations
There are three types of exams at Connecticut College: take-home exams or an equivalent project/work, scheduled exams where the students and instructor are in the same exam room at a scheduled time, or self-scheduled exams.

All courses require a final paper, final project, final exam, or other equivalent final piece of work. At least one portion of this assignment must be due during the exam period.
Students who have questions about final assignments or exams should contact their class dean.
- The instructor is responsible for administering and/or collecting materials for take-home exams, papers in lieu of exams, or other equivalent work. Final exam equivalents should not be given during the last week of classes or on a review day.
- In courses for which there is a pedagogical need for a single exam period with the instructor present in the room (a scheduled exam), the exam must be pre-scheduled through the Registrar's Office. The instructor is responsible for proctoring the exam at the scheduled time.
- If a take home exam, an equivalent project/work, or a scheduled exam will not be offered, instructors must make arrangements for self-scheduled exams. Self-scheduled exams are paper exams that students take on their own in exam classrooms in a designated Exam building. Students pick up and return the exam to the Exam Distribution Center in the Exam building and have three hours to take the exam. Exam Distribution Center hours are published here.
