The cast of RENT performs in Harkness Chapel
When I found out that Connecticut College students would be presenting a staged reading of "Rent," I cleared my schedule immediately.

I have always loved watching musicals, plays and anything theatrical. "Rent" was one of my middle school obsessions and I am forever nostalgic of those first times I listened to the tunes. The news of the campus performances was even better when I learned that Miles Keeney '15, one of my closest friends, was starring as Angel, my favorite character.

My favorite part of the entire show was undoubtedly when the cast sang "Seasons of Love." When the song was performed right after intermission, I was there, waiting with excitement. I will admit that "Tango: Maureen" has always been a close second favorite. The enthusiastic cast enhanced the audience experience.

Wig and Candle, the student theater group that staged the performance, is the oldest student-run organization at Conn. In fact, Wig and Candle was one of the first student groups formed when the College was only for women, and it was revived about five years ago. "Rent" is only one of the many spectacular productions the group organizes each semester.
