The Department of Slavic Studies hosts a number of annual events for its students and for the campus at large. Some of the most popular are:

  • trips to New York City to view Russian and Ukrainian exhibits, theater, and opera performances
  • winter and spring holiday celebrations with Slavic cuisine
  • film screening of Russian and Slavic films
  • community reading groups of award-winning authors from the region
  • student cooking events
  • Campus-visits by renowned intellectuals, among them Yevgenia Albats, M Gessen, Gary Shteyngart, Timothy Snyder
